The Hook It is October, 1867. For weeks, street people have turning up dead in Whitechapel. Most have turned a blind eye to the deaths of these impoverished few, even though the natures of their deaths are so outlandish. These aren't slashings, shootings or beatings. The victims have been found missing their hearts. This is no surgical removal, either; the organs have been ripped from their rib cages with force. But last night, a well-to-do merchant off of Cooper's Row was found murdered in a similar fashion. Now the middle-class have taken notice of these deaths, and are demanding an investigation. Scotland Yard refuses to look into them, for reasons unstated (but rumours are the order came down from Buckingham). They are, however, willing to put together a special team to investigate the matter. 4.
